As of late my favorite writer has given many hours of distraction & even some conscious-raising: this writer is Haruki Murakami. Already having read what is considered his masterpiece, The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, as well as his most recent novel After Dark I am delving into Kafka On The Shore.
What mosts attracts me to the characters in Murakami’s are their sense of alienation, their existential search for meaning in a homogeneous modern world, and their down-right otherworldliness. I love it.

Just finished reviewing Murakami’s AFTER DARK.
A lesser effort, methinks, perhaps a good introductory text but not up there with his best works…
